Saint Mary's Catholic Church will be sponsoring a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course on Saturday September 27 at 8:00 AM in the Parish Activity Center. The course is open to all interested individuals.
The CRASE course is designed to provide strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. It is built on the "Avoid, Deny, Defend" (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004. Topics covered include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
This course is being held under the direction of parishioner Craig Goodman, Chief of the Waco ISD Police Department.
